brake band question

when I brake the band slids off the bottem and doesnt stop the cart... The top stays on all bolts are tight.... band is the right size.... I dont know whats going on.

I cant post pics... picture the brake band and the drum... then the bottom of the band about half an inch off to the right on the botton... and the top still in place...

Occasionally you must weld a guide to the frame to keep the band in place, additionally check your brake pin to see if it has been bent, it may need straightening/welding.
