Thanks for the info on the jets and where to get them. I wil check into getting some. I have to see if the local shop can get me jets for the Arctic Cat or if I have to drive to Issaquah to the Arctic Cat dealer.

Did some more work last night. Made one of the holders for the reverse shifter. Worked on the firewall and side walls. Cut the roof to size and shape. It is fitted correctly but is still warped.

I got a short video from Sunday to post.

I just got the tabs for it and the Discovery Pass for parking. $120 for tabs and $35 for the parking pass :mad2: - At least it is for a year.

Things left to do:
  • Shorten Driverside Axle
  • Rear support for reverse cable
  • Finish firewall
  • side panels
  • Carb work
  • Fix flat front tire
  • Hook up lights
  • Put on fenders
  • Stiffen rear suspension
  • Get air filter

Not sure I will get all that done by this Thursday, but I will eventually.

You won't need a Arctic cat jet you will need them for Mikuni. The good thing carbs is a Mikuni is it's the same on a Yamaha as it is on a Arctic cat. :wai:
Good luck
Steve

So much for that

Well, We went up to Walker Valley ORV park on Thursday afternoon. We unloaded some stuff and decided to go out for the first drive.

The kart was under powered, but it got up to about 30 on the flat areas. According to the GPS. Thanks for the idea. It did not make it up some of the steeper hills. It was pretty fun in the open area.

After driving around we were heading back to the truck for dinner and stuff.

But, we hit a large bump right before a turn. We lost traction and went off the road. there was a steep slop down on the side we went off. At an angle we hit a tree. Or should I say I hit a tree. Luckily I had a full face helmet on cause even with it I fracture my left cheek in 3 places, and fracture the back of my skull.

My son was ok, except for a poke in his leg. he got 4 or 5 stitches.

I guess I did not design the cart to take a tree with just the roll hoop.

Here are some pictures.

:angelsad2: Glad you are still with us; I can really sympathies. I hope you are back on your feet faster than I've been going. I'm still working on getting back on my feet after a car crash back in April. Don't get to worked up about the cart; it's not going any where. Focus on getting your self back on your feet; a buggy isn't worth much if all you can do is look at it. Stay in touch.

My brother pulled it up the hill on all four wheels. The engine still runs just as good as it did before. I have not had the energy to unload it from the trailer.

It will probably be a while before I get around to fixing it. I was looking at it yesterday. The paint is cracked around most of the welds on the kart, so it took a major beating.

I probably have to build another instead of fix that one.

Thanks for all the good wishes.

Best wishes to you and your son.

Yah what did you mean by under powered? My 340 in my Ody flies and its about 500lbs. And that with mix matched clutches?

Do you think your clutch is shifting right? Does it have bottom end on no top end?

There is no tire spin on take off with full throttle. Then as we got on some of the steeper roads it would stop going and could not start again. It sounded like the engine was slowing down to where the clutch disengaged, then it would just slip.
