bought kart number 2 could use some help

hello bought a second kart this one is a streaker has 11 horse briggs took her for a spin yesterday wow need to figure away to make this ride smoother backs to old for it anyway i can smooth ride out im gonna drop tire pressure down to 3.5 psi see if that helps also any way to add suspension to these hard tails gotta figure something out any help would be great.

weld some old car springs to the rim to the hubs lol like a slinky jk dont do that.

Replace the padding on the seat with high density foam. Standard thickness is usually around 2", but you could probably double that. Found at any artsy craft store type place. Make sure it's high density foam

Thanks will get some rear end pics tomorrow was thinking also about some bigger front tires like that are more ballon type and run about 3 psi seat padding good idea gonna look into that to anyone ever make a seat suspension was thinking that may work I also have a old Suzuki four wheeler I could use for suspension parts just don't know where or how to start or if it can even be done

I have, on my daughters kart (look at the pics in the first two posts); stole the idea (&, in fact, the hardware) from a riding mower

Need one or two more shots across the kart, just behind the seat...

The first problem I see is the roll cage (if you can call it that) attaches to the rear of the frame. The second problem is that it's not really a roll cage, it's only bolted to the frame, making it more of a brush guard...

Are the uprights behind the seat & the side guards welded or bolted to the frame? They will become the mounting points for the rear shocks...

The tires are designed to be the suspension on this type of kart. Good idea to drop the pressure.

You can add suspension, but it will be a lot of fabrication. But if you're bent on doing it, look at Fab's sig.

Ok, rear suspension is possible but, as souperman said, it's gonna take some fab work. Are you up for it?

You need to start by securely welding the vertical bars behind the seat to the main frame. Then you need to weld the side bars to the frame at the front & to the verticals. This will create a base for suspension mounts.

Oh, FYI, this is a big job which will take a few weeks depending on time availability...

Anyone else think it's worth continuing?
