I just bought an 08 manco warrior 720l-08. it has a 265cc 10hp robin subaru engine. I want to change oil, filter, and any other fluids etc. Could someone give me a list of the things I could change as I dont know a thing about go kart engines. It seems to be running great but I want to do this just as a percaution. also it has to rev up a bit before it takes off, is this normal? Want to work on all of this tomorrow. Also, are there any mods I can do to it to give it a little more power? basically I want to to do an all around tune up. Any help would be appreciated.

While your at it change the spark plug, look for a good air filter. UNI makes a good one. The lag before you take off is the clutch expanding. I'm not sure what rpm the clutch engages at, but I wouldn't be concerned about it. Unless you really have to rev it up then that's a problem. You can look at my profile and see what I did to my sons cart with a Carb spacer. Really helps with more power.

I don't know if they make a billet aluminum flywheel for those robin engines, but I hear they really help with power. The down side side is they are expensive. The Briggs ones are $100 and some change.

I already broke the chain off of it. It says I need a 420x80 chain. So should I buy a renthal 420x80 chain?

Billet flwheels are a safety precaution mainly. Same with a billet rod. The stock rods and flywheels are supposed to be a lot weaker.
You can drain the oil by undoing the drain plug at the bottom of the engine block. Then fill it up again with sae30, 10w30 or whatever the manual reccomends.
You can remove the stock airfilter and fit it with an uni or k&n type. You would need an adapter. This, if i am correct, should be pretty similar to the gx270 one and it could be used with a little modification. These can be bought from a site called affordable go karts
You can also take off the horribly restrictive stock muffler and buy a nice pipe or make a straight pipe if you are not worried about noise. If you are worried about noise bolt a muffler to the end.
Once you have done the above, you can drill out the main jet a little.
Finally you can remove the governor. This is a litle plastic gear inside the crankcase that needs removing, along with the linkages. You may theb beed to rework the throttle.

ok cool thanks for the help. I am about to buy a 420x80 chain from rocky mountain ATV. Will any 420x80 chain work? The manual says that is what chain it uses.

Does anyone know where I can get a nice pipe for my exhaust or a uni filter for my buggy? I am going to look on affordable go karts right now.

AGK may not have many parts, if any, for Subie engines. I know a lot of what they do for industrial engines is for the Honda GX series. For an exhaust, you may have to use the existing mount flange and make your own pipe. Or make your own pipe and flange. As for chain, any 40 chain should work as 40 is a set pin to pin distance. Although, some like 41 are not as strong and are not the exact same as other 4# chains. 40 is usually considered industrial chain (IIRC) and 420 and 428 are most commonly found on dirtbikes/quads. 41 is lightweight industrial (IIRC) and weaker.

My manual said that it came with a 420 chain, so I went ahead and ordered a 420 chain. I ordered it from an ATV website. So Im guessing that will work? Its a 420x80. the 80 is the length??? Ill check youtube today.

Thanks guys!
