Found a pocket bike the other day on Craigslist and texted the guy the day before I went on vacation and wasn't able to meet up with him before leaving.
So I got back from vacation and called the guy but he had sold the pocket bike the day before, but he has a go kart he wants to sell too.
It's not really what I'm looking for and it's really not what I was expecting, but I grabbed it anyways just to have something to mess with.
It's a motorsports promotions inc and it's got a 3.5hp Briggs on it. Body is supposed to be a Harley davidson f250 from what the guy said.
Anyone know anything about these things?

Very cool. I don't know anything about that but, I know I would like to look more at that drive set up.

Have same kart different body

I have this kart it was given to me with that same briggs engine but wasn't running, i replaced it with a 6.5 hp harbor freight greyhound engine, after maybe 1 and a half laps around the block i tore the rim from the tire and it would spin and the tire would just stand still. I tried to fix it back then but i didn't really have the time to work on it so it just sat in storage for almost two years, i recently pulled it out with plans to restore or rebuild it this summer.
Its got a fiberglass body that obviously is designed for kids, being a grown man six feet tall i may take the components and build a backyard boogie DIYKart that has more room. my biggest concern is the torque converter i cant seem to find a similar unit on the web. i did manage to find the belt, its an optibelt OMEGA 850 15m 25. the converter has FW DRIVE SYSTEMS and "turbo torque" imprinted on it its connected to a six spring clutch that i cant seem to find a manufacturer for. so i will be looking at the frame and see if i can maybe reinforce it with a crossmember at the two front wheel spindles so that i can get a few more miles out of it before i build the new chassis. i will include some pictures so perhaps someone out there can give me insight on what the parts are called and what concerns i may have going forward. oh and my cart had a corvette body on it but that has since been trashed.
