Can you take a good slow pic/video of the brake rod from the peddle to the brake band. I am wondering if some one has put the rod on under the cart when it is supposed to be on top for that model? Then the way the brake band is now, unhook it and rotate it back just a little so the hole the rod is currently bolted to now bolts to the frame, then the rod running on top of the frame now bolt to the other hole?
Might be some other ways to remove the chain link on Google but easiest way is a chain link breaker.
Ok, kart #1 is a Manco Dingo; that's a torque converter, kart #2 has a centrifugal clutch...
I have a feeling the brake band is setup incorrectly, it should run in front of the drum, not behind it...
As for the rattle, the bell on the driver clutch (attached to the engine) seems to be running off (it's not straight), that may have something to do with it...
Kart #2 I don't know what it is but, the brake drum has seen better days; can you post some pics of the brake setup?
Whoa!!!! Man thats jacked up....
Take the rod off and straighten it out a little. The band is connected wrong. Unhook it how you got it. The bottom of the band connects to that bolt where you got the top of the band. The brake rod should go OVER the drum, and attached to the top side of the band. The way you have it, you're only utilizing maybe 60% of the brake capacity.....
Hook your brake band up like on my personal play toy. My kart hits 45 and I can lock up my tires with NO problem.....
EDIT
I'm not using those tires on that kart. I was just messing around.....
yup yup.....
