Hi
i just finished by go kart and some bolts on my go kart keep coming loose. Like the bearings collar ones. oh ya and the sprocket hub came loose to. What do i do to stop this? Also how tight should my chain be?

With the engine, clutch and chain installed, the chain can be adjusted by making minor adjustments to the placement of the engine. If the engine is moved all the way forward, the chain will be too loose and could come off the sprocket. If it is moved all the way to the rear, it will be too tight and could break. A loose chain is a hazard, so either of these situations is to be avoided. Position the engine so that the chain has good tension, but is not overly tight.

I agree to use sring/lock washers. Not that Locktight isn't a good product, it is a bit too permanent for me.

i use either loctite, wrap stuff in Teflon tape, or get a lock nut, or a jam nut. i believe that you should have a 1/2" of play in the middle of the chain.

The red needs a torch to break it. That's for high temp. and permanent applications.

I dislike your condescending crap. A waste of bandwidth.
Please tell us, brendonv, how your post advances what we are talking about.

I've always went with a 1/2" of play in the chain. Also Blue Locktite is a wonderful product. Will work extremely well for keeping those little stop collar screws in place.
