Had nothing better to do so i made a list of the bolts and tool you need when working on a b&s motor 5 h.p.that i thought might help out some people.
1.Head Bolts-1/2 socket---8 bolts
2.Crank Bolt-1/2 ---1 inch long with washer and locknut
3.Exhaust Bolts-7/16--2 bolts
4.Motor Mount Bolts-1/2 --4 bolts
5.Crank Case Cover-3/8--6 bolts
6.Spark Plug-13/16 socket
7.Pull Start Cover-7/16--4 bolts
8.Air Filter Cover 5/16or flat head--2 bolts
9.Heat Shield Cover-1/4--1 bolt
10.Pick up Tube cover{block to carb}-5/16--2 bolts
11.Carb-3/8or t-30 star bit--2 bolts also carb bolts-t-15- 4 bolts,t-20--3 bolts
12.Piston Rod Cap-5/16-2 bolts
13.Oil drain plug-3/8 wrench --2 of them
This would cover most of you socket sizes and amount of bolts so as you can see a basic 1/4 socket set from sears and a couple of wrench and screw driver is all you need to work on these motors.
