bolting clutch on ?

the new 212 pred motor with 3/4 shaft --I slid new clutch on and it goes on to far. if I put 1-1/8 washer and bolt like it says clutch slides back and forth 1/4 inch. it says only use the set screws if motor shaft is not tapped. what do ya s think? thanx pine

You need washers big enough to go over the shaft so you can "shim" the clutch into the proper position and limit the side to side travel.

cut a spacer from 3/4" ID tube and put it behind the clutch.

Check with the Clutch Mfgr too. My Hilliards want 1/32 of play.
Do not know about Max torque.

How did you put yours on? How much play do you have along the engine shaft?

I slide it on inboard then put a bolt with washer on it. I dont think there's any play. I'll take a pic later. My clutch has a built in key

just a thought... is your chain # fitted for your clutch sprocket and axle sprocket # ?

I took two 1and1/4 flat washers with 5/8 hole and ran my step bit threw them that went up to 3/4----in vise of coarse---worked great, next issue was paperwork said use 1-1/8 washer for bolt into shaft, I went all over could only find 1 1/4, worked fine
