New to the forum, I just bought a bocart 420cc. I don't know much about it and can find less online in relation to parts etc. Just hoping for any info maybe a user manual. Not picked it up yet but its coming running driving and stopping. Thanks in advance.

Welcome! Looks like it has a wet clutch gear reduction. Should be fun.

Looks like it was designed in Denmark, sold exclusively in Europe. Might still be in business, hard to tell.

:welcome2:

Second one (actually third, see links) I have seen on this forum. Info seems to be VERY SCARCE on them. When you get it, would love for you to "deep dive" for us so we can all learn what was standard equipment and what can be used for replacement parts.

Maybe you can get in touch with Spud, the one-post-wonder, another Irishman.

Got the Bocart, it's a gx390 with a wet clutch reduction. Engine wad in a sorry state when I got it (price refected that) bent push rods, no head gasket, new exhaust, new carb. Water in gearbox housing. The broken pull cord was a breeze. A lot learned including the brakes that were siezed but are no longer. Took it for a drive (with no seat, have to rebuild it) going well. Cost €300 have spent €200 and it way better than anything you would buy for €500

Nice photo, sir, from that angle. You have an eye for composition. I like how it is running, functional but not cosmetically perfect. At least not yet…😉

What is the steering setup like on the Bocart?
How fast does it go?

Steering is just a simple set up. Not the best turning circle as both rear wheels are driven with no slip at all. Only does about 40k. I'd say ill have to do the clutch plates at some stage but happy enough for now. Cosmetics wise that's as good as its going to get. Miles of forestry and big road right beside us here so it will get used

Just a flywheel and starter, it's actually a 390 (advertised as 420) it's a genuine honda though

I think you do deserve a "turnkey" electric starter, battery as well as some lighting. I think the alternator and/or charging coil is usually behind the flywheel and the new flywheel has a magnet(s) on the inside to generate charging. I bet the Honda parts for that are probably pretty pricey.

Edit: Just saying (I think) those are the parts you need. Ask Master Hack to be sure!

might put an electric start into it. Does anyone know it's that difficult
No it is not. Avoid the scamazon/fleebay Chinese crap. The starter motor will last about 27 starts then burn up.
Its OK, ask how I know!
Edit:
I don't think that Honda parts are out of line. I'm sure some are but what I have bought wasn't bad. $80 for a 390 block? genuine Honda.
