I took my boat out to Lake Pleasant on Wednesday, it was wonderful. I decided to go again Thursday but I wanted to rebuild the subwoofer boxes to make them fit in a different area of the boat. I went to Home Depot and had my MDF cut to the pieces I needed. As I'm pulling out of the parking lot I go over an aggressive speed bump and hear a loud bang. I stop and get out, I look around but see no issues, I figured it might have been the "clacking" of all those MDF boards. Drive 25 feet and see smoke pouring off the trailer tire. The leaf spring snapped clean. Now I'm stuck in a lane of the i17 access road. Right below me is a dark drain pipe with some homeless camp style stuff near the opening. I put the biscuit on my waist while I wait for the tow truck. $150 for the tow, $130 for replacement springs, and several hours removing/installing. The boxes are coming out so sweet, pics to come tonight.

At least it didn't break the shackle and sent it into the boat itself. What kind of boat is it?

this could've been way worse for sure, it could've happened on the highway at high speed on Wednesday

the boat is a 1994 Four Winns Freedom that my dad bought new and gave to me a few years ago, we kept immaculate care of it and you wouldn't even believe the interior is the original, I added a tower and sound system, its the perfect wakeSKATE boat

if you didn't know, I am a dealer for Bulletlines and Monster Tower

I've owned enough boats that I've sworn off of them. I own a 10FT aluminum flat bottom that I float down creeks and fish out of, that about as much boat as I want these days.

Soooo...you're whining about paying nearly $300 just to get some crappy MDF home?

WELCOME TO MY WORLD!!!

Bwaa haaah haaah hahha!

I thought that crap could only happen to me!!!

It'll get better...(at least for you) ...trust me, the answer is above.

naw I'm not whining, in fact I was in a surprisingly good mood throughout it all

but darn it all, despite my ultra precise measurements there were a couple things I didnt account for like those bolts that hold the seat wood to the aluminum sliding rod, I was about to panic and scrap these boxes but then I realized I can make a trim ring to match the footprint of the seat frame, which will raise the frame about 3/4" and give me the clearance I need

it's hard to see in the picture but that box is as thin as the subwoofer can do, there is only room for a hair between the bottom of the sub and the floor of the box
