Hello everybody, today I finally got some free time and so I decided to start this build thread even though I probably wont get to start working on my go kart until Thursday.
As it sits right now its unknown chassis which is in pretty good shape (no rust or cracks or bends)
engine is Briggs and Stratton 5hp (I thought its Honda 5hp, thats why I wrote it in my intro thread / sorry)
centrifugal clutch, idk the ratio :/
kill switch
one wheel drive
& ****ty break system
---------------------- Those are all of the specs that I have right now
My plan is to take everything, every single nut and bolt, of the frame and start building it from the scratch.
Reinforce the frame at first, and paint it. Then new nuts and bolts all around, copper washers, rubber grommets, kingpins, high quality bearings and other miscellaneous items. Also completely new rear axle so I can get power to both of my rear wheels. 10/4.5 - 5inch in front and 11/5.1 - 5inch in the back for tires. And at last new engine. I am dropping a suzuki gs1000 from 1980. Engine is running, complete assembly, with all wiring and gauges. New seat possibly with 5 point harness and maybe new fiberglass.
Please do not judge me, and ask me if I want to kill myself and/or comments like that. I don't want to kill myself, I love my life, thats why when this project is done I will drive it on the track, and track only, with fire suit on, gloves & helmet.
I am building this go kart so I can have something to race my friends on the race track, and/or possibly to sell for double the value that I put in.
So far go kart cost me $300 & $100 for suzuki engine. $400 total and willing to put up to $500 more for rest of the parts.
