BriggsTwins Ms Becky never quits! Black Betty never works and if she does its in short burst. I think shes done cuz i broke the pull string. she stalled and then it got real hard to pull. I ll take her down on the weekend and find out whats going on.

I asked santa aka my wife for a 6hp techmuseh. I don t think theres the room for twins. Betty is a bit narrow.

Why would you ask santa for a tecumseh? thats like asking him for coal or bricks.
Although I agree 100% I have to give credit to some of them. The people I ride with have a 6hp Tec. We ride hard for about 10 hours a day. They've had it for 5 years and to give you an idea of how much we ride we did about 900miles this year. They change the oil every Feb. and that's it. It still starts 1st pull. Im not saying I like them because the one that came on my Kart broke on me within 3 months of use. But the ones with the iron bores still seem to be good engines. His sister's clone on the other hand has had problems from the start. I just figured Id share what I've seen this past year in comparison of the two.
To the OP, nice karts and good luck with whatever you decide to do!

The only Tecumseh model I'd go out of my way to own would be their Star race engine. Although with the company shutting down and all you'd think there'd be some bargain prices out there.

The way I see it is just like NJOHC said I don t know S^^^ about Tecumseh but the one I have hasn't let me down yet. The only down side I see is the non adjustable carb.

By the way I put Becky's engine on Betty. No accl but no one can touch my top end.

Updated pictures

Picture 1: New engine I got for Christmas
Picture 2: My buddy rolled the go kart 3 times and that is the damage
Pciture 3: I welded a piece of steel for support for the spindle because I kept bending them. I used an oxyacetlyene torch with a cutting tip.
Picture 4: Instaled and painted

I'm still breaking in the motor. Today I got the clutch red hot because I got stuck in the mud.
