BKS TC Go-Fur Jack Shaft Parts

Hi Guys,

I picked up an old BKS TC Gofur that was somewhat apart. I am missing the bracketry etc for the jackshaft. Does anyone know if this is available or does anyone have any used? or something to copy to make one?

Chances are you are going to have to make something. You can try GoKart Supply, MFG Supply, BMI or some other big Gokart parts supplier and see what is available.

If someone has one and can provide pics or measurements that would be great. I am wanting to restore the kart back to original.

Most kart parts are generic. Not worth restoring to make money. Worth fixing to ride though.

This is more of a personal preference than anything else. I’m not planning on selling. Same kart we had as kids and just want it like when we got it new.

One of the BEST backyard fun karts made. Tube inside a tube, built to last. 95% of them were single seat which is the best and the safest. Bob quit building karts when product liability went over a $100,000. I will take a picture of the steering shaft on my kart when I go in back of the shop. I have one of his twin engine karts which are as rare as chicken teeth. Bob is alive an well in Nauvoo, IL.

Mis-read your request and took pictures of the wrong item, thinking you said steering shaft and then read it was the jackshaft you wanted. He made his own jackshaft tube with bearing pushed in on both ends. There was a steel spacer in the shaft so the bearings would not be screwed up when you tighten down the nuts on both ends of the shaft. The jackshaft was fully keyed and threaded at both ends. he used nylock nuts on both ends. He used a #40 10 tooth sprocket going down to his large sprocket on the axle. He used a 30 series torque converter by Comet and I believe it was the 7" driven if I recall correctly. Many of the bearing and sprockets he got from Azusa in CA (still in business). He got his clutches from us and chain guards from GEM Products (no longer in business).

I just stumbled upon this post today. I've got a Gofur that's in running condition (we actually parade with them here). Let me know if you still need pics of the jack shaft & I can send you pics of the one's we've made to maintain the karts.

Made an attempt to start taking this machine apart for restoration. Not done yet. Ended up being alot more than in thought.

Go kart Dave -- great kart worth restoring. Bob just gave all his stuff he has been sitting on for 20 years to a guy that "might" start rebuilding that kart. Hey JimD thanks for sending me that video. Was definitely worth watching. I hope the grandkids have saved 1 of grandpa's originals never been started or driven still in the crate. Great parade original. I have 2 I'm working on. Trying to restore them. Unfortunately 1 has no engine an the other has a newer engine. So the best I can do is make them look brand new.
