Bks side rail removal

Hello, I'm trying to get my kart ready for sandblasting. However I'm unable to remove my sidebars does anyone know if they are welded on the inside and the bolted on? Or are they just rusted in place?

Probably rust seized and now part of the kart.

Any good rust remover that you may have used? Tried soaking wheel hub on brake side it never budged at all. Ruined my harbor freight puller. Don't suggest p.b.blaster, that's what I used.

Found a neighbor on my street that had a 20 ton press an a torch. Well, they came off. Side bars are gonna have to soak some more.

Might be time for a hack saw.

Just leave them on and paint around them.

A. Little masking tape will go a long way for your sanity and will not contaminate the new paint with oils!

You should try Kroil. I think its about the best penatrant out there. Works great on old siezed up engines.

I'll give it a try. I'm figuring after I get the kart fully stripped I can turn it on its side an let the product do its thing. I was gonna try this stuff. I figured if water can get in between the 2 parts so can this. Willing to try anything. Thanks for the tip.
