Guys- that's it. I understand. Light shine on marble head. Dude!

Gotta start with DUDE! I Just had so much fun!!! I installed the new engine, remounted the winch, blah blah blah- I'll save it for the build thread. THEN-

Then I went mudding!!! Man, I had a riot! This 40-year-old felt like a kid again! Even though the diff's still unlocked, the UTLTV did very well. I was slinging mud everywhere, and on the last pass, I mired in. Big time! I flung mud all over the tractor and myself. My clothes, my hair, my face, even in one ear!

Thank God I reinstalled the winch! I tied off to a tree about 15 feet away, and hauled my *** outta there. You should have seen the look on my wife's face, when I got back totally covered in schmutz and grinning from ear to muddy ear! Really- next time, video! For now, some after pics...

What is it?

:smiley_omg:In the upper L/H of photo 3; is that a Dexta or Super Dexta? Curious minds want to know.....

As far as the rest of it?:funnypost::lolgoku::kewlsmiley: As far as the mud bug goes, yeah it can be a lot of fun (and I've been known to play to this day), but having done enough of the hard core agricultural type; well, lets say the novelty of it's kind of worn off a little. Still, looks like you had a blast. I'm kind of wondering about the fact that you drove it home under it's own power, though. The REALLY SERIOUS mudbug's I've known swear they havin' fun unless somthin's "Blown an Smokin'!!!!!"

So, did the wife require you to strip down in the yard or did she just take a hose to you before you were allowed back in the house?

A couple quickie notes on the Super Dexta-

It belongs to a buddy of mine, and doesn't get used very often anymore. It is so old, beaten, and in such dire need of a rebuild, that the last time it sat for more than a few months, he was stumped trying to figure out why it wouldn't start. (3cyl Perkins Diesel)

After verifying fuel delivery, I surmised the following: Compression was quite weak, and having sat so long, there was no longer a coating of oil on the cylinder walls to aid in compression. I shot about a half can of WD40 up the intake, and with that dose of oil in there, it lit.

He needed to start it again today, and it's been about a year. So, I loaded a spray bottle with '40 again, and had at it. Got it started, no probs...

:lolgoku:And here I thought it had followed you home!!!!!
I was about to say, if you had that old dino, why were you worried about another lawn tractor......:roflol:

Actually, the reason I asked was because we rarely saw them south of the border. If I remember correctly (I may be wrong) Ford's policy was to sell Ford N. America's products (tractors at least) in the western hemisphere with Ford G.B. out put. It wasn't until the mid/late 60's that Ford started to standardise it's designs for production around the world. So, you only see a Dexta south of the border if there was a story behind it. I couldn't help ask (what can I say, I like old farm equipment).

LOL

It's a 2000 Yamaha Wolverine 350 that had the entire rearend burnt up in a fire. The trailer wheels are temporary while I'm working on it (so I can roll it around easily) and the engine you see it the cooked 12hp I just tore out of this UTLTV. I set it there while I was nabbing parts off it.
