i have a bird nighthawk my dad bought from a friend(original Owner) in the 90s for me and i want to get it riding again. the gas tank that came on it is 60s/70s plastic. when my dad bought it he repainted it. problem is the gas fumes vented through the tank and bubbled the paint then a wreck broke the petcock.
my question, is there any repop or is anyone 3d printing these? my goal is original as possible!

Doubtful they are being re-popped. Have you tried asking our brothers over at oldminibikes.com?

You might try one of these. All steel, not correct or original but will serve the part:

Can it be plastic welded or brass fittings be installed?

Or what about splitting the seam and installing a smaller tank, like the teardrop one I posted, then gluing/plastic-welding it back together? The tank could be anything, even a soup can with a filler neck brazed on 🤪

How much endurance does one need for a vintage collectable minibike?

Здравствуйте. А если смыть краску и закрыть эпоксидной смолой, можно армировать стеклоканью.

Hello. If you wash off the paint and seal it with epoxy resin, you can reinforce it with fiberglass.
