Bicycle with Motor

I am thinking of modding a bicycle to fit a motor onto it. I have a RYOBI 30cc 2 stroke engine and was planning to fit it between the croos bars of the bicycle. What would be better to bolt it on or weld it on?

How would you weld or bolt it on? Does it have holes for bolts do bolts if it doesnt welding is most likely the way to go, just keep the chain lined up.

Thanks man, but don't worry i have decided to drill a hole through the cover for the muffler then drill the same size holes in the tray on top of the rear wheel on the bicycle i'll fit it on with 2 bolts and nuts

what motor are you using? Could you please take pics? I have a weed whacker engine and i want to pwer my bike so that would help emmencly.

this will be very interesting. are you planning on using a clutch for the chain or having it direct connect so you just have to pedal a certain speed to start it?

this engine is from a weed hacker. I was originaly going to buy a chainsaw and disasemble it so I could have the clutch already connected but I thought i would try this engine. I'm thinking of having a direct connection with a chain, but i'm not so sure on how to have the engine and the pedals connected to the wheel at the same time

this bike might not be ready for a while. I have the engine but i'm still waiting for my friend to get me one of those bikes with a tray over the back wheel

do you have a welder? if so i would just make a new mount for the engine because the tray on the bike will be pretty weak

well heres what i would do, you can get a wheel for the back that has a gear on each side of the wheel (looking for link) then connect one side to the pedals, and the other to the engine, have the trottle set to medium when your riding then when you get to a certain speed the engine will start and power you down the road, when you want to stop, hold the cut switch (which i think you can actually link to your brake so when you slow down it cuts it) untill the bike stops.
