The welds will still be strong though right?

Here is a picture of the difference. Keep in mind that you do need to make your welds consistent with a good bead profile and good transitions. If you can do that, the C02 will actually give you better penetration.

I don't get to weld often, but when I do, it's MIG... until last month or so. Tried TIG for the first time. I didn't do too bad without fill rod (At least I don't think so, but I don't know since I'm kind of a newb welder), but was trying to concentrate on too many things at once when adding fill rod. Gave myself a thumbs down on that one, haha :)

The other two are just the most recent MIG welds I've done... tabs on some angle iron to protect cables on the floor. Not my best...

AMMFAB.... holy crap man. Those are gorgeous. I'd love to achieve half of your skill! Incredible.

If it ever finishes loading, here's some pics of the last welding job I did for a now former employer. 304 stainless steel TIG. I should have taken a couple after I wire brushed them, but things were fast coming apart that day.

He had been stringing me along as a 1099 contractor for almost 6 months; when he hired a new person full time I asked to get off contractor status. When he refused, I asked him how he was going to explain himself when he was audited for trying to keep me as full time employee without following the laws.......

I start a new job on third shift tonight.

Thanks Paul. First night went well. Machining propellers for ships is a new one on me. As for the welds, those were OK, I hope to post some really good ones soon, weather permitting....

HEY! That's hitting below the belt!!!! Well at least my belt......leather is expensive........

Where would this country be without duct tape, JB Weld, and superglue?

By all that's holey.....or is that holy???...IDK....You sir are stepping on the toes of DIY's everywhere. .... (not saying they do it right.....but still.....)

This country was built on bailing wire and a prayer..... (that it would hold).....

This goes out for the underdogs....the guys that fix electrical connections with scotch tape......repair those busted tailights with red plastic schoolbook binder material....and the busted car windows with cardboard......or go the extra step to use genuine plastic sheetingand duct tape.......

These are the unsung heroes that make this country great! It's the Poboy way! Use what ya got....and sell the rest to some other dummy.......

And now we have Phil Shifty- " Handyman in a can!"........ Why bother with fixing anything right????? Just spray some crap on it and call it good!

Sign me up. ....fixin' stuff right puts a serious dent in my drinkin' time.....
