For my 2015 buildoff entry I'll be building my engine mount soon. I'm definitely going to do either rubber washers or a rubber sheet. I'm curious if anyone has experience with these and what the opinions are on which one I should use.

Is a single cylinder go kart with no suspension. Vibes are part of the experience but I'm understanding where your comming from. I had a 1999 Manco Dingo 6 SE and it had a 6hp tech OHH60 powersport engine and it had one **** of a vibration just above idle.

Switched to a genuine Honda GX 200 and no harsh off idle vibes to speak of. Some small engines are worse than others.

Rubber mounting a engine can be tough because under load the engine will deflect and could cause driveline alignment issues and or further vibrations from misaligned drive components.

We have had members in the past that tried that.....and it caused more problems than it solved.......(namely....problems with the engine moving....and not being able to keep proper chain tension....)

Just saying.....

I know I felt a difference on one of my mini bikes when I added some bracing to the under side of motor mount. Maybe adding gussets and braces not only to motor mount but maybe here and there on the frame. Maybe it gives a path to weaken vibration. Just guessing here....

I would go this route and see if it helps

I have found the best way to reduce engine vibration is to not start it. If you don't start it it will never vibrate. :stir:
