There is no governor in the engine, exhaust upgraded, custom throttle setup, aftermarket air filter and adapter plus jet. 54 tooth sprocket and 10 tooth sprocket clutch. Live axle. How can I improve the engine or kart MPH without changing the engine to another one. Do you have to change sprockets don’t want torque converter either

Exhaust removed as in no exhaust or upgraded exhaust? Without an exhaust of SOME length you risk burning the exhaust valve in case you weren't aware. A proper (tuned) length and size will gain you performance, you can "tune" by length for low/midrange rpms, for WOT or can make it adjustable by creating a "slip tube".... when you're chasing every last bit of power it counts!

The usual internal upgrades have been covered here in many posts with alot of valuable information but really it all depends on how deep your pockets are?

As for your gearing 5.4:1 is probably where you want to be for top speed, I'll assume you're speaking of the kart from your other thread with 17" tires?

Check out Kart calculator at app.kartcalc.net it should help you tons in the gearing department.

What size tires are on ot now and what type of kart is it? 5.4:1 is a bit high for 17" tires. 15-16" tires that ratio works well. A note about that app.kartcalc.net is, it only works on mobile devices not computers.
