I just bought a "40 series torque converter" No. No. No. What the seller had failed to say was that it was a 30 series. So now i have a $100 credit on amazon. So for around $150, what is the best 40 series torque converter for cheap. Im not looking into a $400 comet like the one gps sells.

Thanks in advanced

~zack

Once i get the tc i bought, is there a way to tell the difference between a 30 series and a 40 series just by looking at it?

Cliente de Amazon. I'm guessing that's like Amazon customer.

That's the unit I have. It has performed well for me. Predator 420, 6:1 sprocket ratio 24"+ tall rear tires. I'm about 250lbs.

When i had asked the seller what it was rated for, he said that this is for 7hp and under
So that cliente is full of dirt... and?
(it's NOT the seller mind you!)

that still is a series 40 TC, what you wanna hear?
I mean open the eyes, take a look.. there it is series 40 clone...
I can't see at which point a doubt could emerge to be honest *shrugs*

but okay, let's read the amazon product description from YOUR LINK:

I haven't had to replace the belt yet. I can only guess on the hours, but it's been to a number of party's where it was beat on for several hours at a time.

Genuine comet belt.
Aligned as best as I could.
Adjust properly.

The description say asymmetrical. I'm pretty sure that's wrong. 40 series is symmetrical.

Alright thanks. I might just get a teflon belt
nope :lolgoku:
Got a link to a teflon belt? I don't recall seeing a teflon belt.

because there is none..
just think about having the most slippy plastic providing the FRICTION you need to transfer power...

makes no sense at all!

What NotSoMasterMind meant to say was "Kevlar belt" I assume.
which is of course not a kevlar belt at all.. just a kevlar reinforced one (to prevent it from stretching)

PS Teflon belt... hilarious... just thinking about it.. it'd be rockhard and cost around 350 bucks, couldn't wrap around the TC nor be able to provide power.. but it'd look great in shiny white and most of all it'd stay clean like forever :D

You could make your own teflon belt. Just need a 100 or so rolls of teflon tape. :)
