Looking at paint options for my project and I want to go with a rattle-can paint and primer mix. Rustoleum and Duplicolor are what I'm seeing reccomended a lot. What should I go with? From what I hear Rustoleum is thicker and has better rust protection while Duplicolor is finer and has better fading protection. I only have experience using Rustoleum 2X paint + primer and I feel as if it scratches very easily.

That Rustoleum 2K is all I have in my shop (besides header paint), and it does a good job if you apply it smooth where there's no wind at all. The scratching comes from not having a clear topcoat. You can spray the clear on as wildly as you want, it won't show light/dark at all, just big runs if you spray too thick. Coat after coat, plenty of drying time between. 3 coats should be sufficient, I've done 5-6 coats in high wear spots to protect the colors.
