Best frame designs

Hi I'm just wondering what are some really good frame designs for small 12 inch wheel go karts (free plans) Without suspension or a diff. Just a small strong frame. I bought a crappy go kart and it was fun but I just got a truck load of free square metal from a local lumber mill (scraps) and I want to use most of my parts from my old cart and just redo the frame because it's really junky it has cracks in the welds some bars on roll cage are over inches off center.

Imo the best free designs are the ones you make yourself.

Make it custom fit you.

A great program that will help you figure it out is called sketchup.

But there are also plenty of plans out there...or you could mimic an existing design as well, and just make the proportions fit you.

Before we go any further, what are the dimensions of the steel; square tube, yes? What size & wall thickness?

I didn't at first either. I watched a few tutorials online, took about 15 mins after that to actually get the hang of it.

I bassicly have a huge assortment 1" square, 2" square 4" square, 4" by 2" rectangle. And I also have a few more other sizes. All are 4mm thick. I don't like using sketch up I can't get a hang of it.

Ooooh

Around here 2mm is considered thick; the thicker the walls, the heavier the overall frame will be & you will end up needing a massively powerful engine just to make it move...

Oh sorry I only measured the 4" by 4" square and that's 4mm the rest is 2mm thick
