So holding the phone with 1 hand aint cutting it, it seems like go-pros are wayyy to $$$$

To video trails, what is other options?

I got me a newish go pro and an old one, not sure if the old one works but if you want it. Without a 'pro I'm not sure, maybe mount a phone to the low front of a kart or the handlebars of a mini.

Mount a cheap camera to bike is probably where I'd go.
Phone taped to bike this weekend if weather cooperates with me....

I bought a Sports Video Camera similar to this bout 10 years ago. Still works great. Was rated as 1080, now days they are rated like 4K. Mine at about 10ft or less there was a little distortion ( fish eye effect ) not too bad. Anything beyond that was good and sharp. Even came with an underwater case and a handlebar clamp.
