Looking at you're pictures I can see what looks like a bent or warped front axle. Make sure all is straight after you cut the axle off before welding it back on. No sense in welding back on warped or bent stuff. :mad2:

it was completely straight when i cut it. my best guess is it was bent or something when i welded it on there so its probably at an angle now because i didn't check twice and measure before i put it on there

Metal shrinks toward the weld when welding. Always tack both sides first, the do one side and then the other. A little back and forth, rechecking for straightness or square whatever as you go. I am NO master welder. this is just a tip I picked up. It would be ideal if we all had a perfectly flat 1/2 thick steel table top, Then you can tack your work down to help keep things lined up.

Do not lay down a full bead all along the one side without doing something on the other. It will twist like a pretzel.
