The bench seat on the kasea go kart is pretty much rotten. I could use it as a template and build a new one but the material may cost more than a new one.

Seems a seat for that model may not be available. I tried AJ parts to no avail. Does anyone know of a parts house that might have one?

The go karts like the one I’m repairing seem to be very popular. I wonder if one for another brand might fit. Any ideas?

I gave up finding one to buy. I will just reupholster what I have. The wood is completely gone. Do you have any idea of the thickness of the plywood the seats are built on?

I see no reason to go real heavy because the metal frame supports most of the weight but again I don’t want it cracking from the weight of adults.

I would go with at least 1/2" thick plywood if not thicker, it's cheap enough. Also recommend painting or sealing the wood before you staple the cover on. Most seats come from the factory bare wood and it doesn't take long for water and mud to begin the rot process. I've built a few seats using new wood and foam along with the original cover if possible but I always put a couple of coats of paint or wood sealer on the wood first.
