Belt for TC

I am putting a Series 44 TC on my Kart, and if I read directions on the chart for a Comet correctly, I need to set the center of jackshaft the exact distance from the center of the motor shaft. This can be any distance that fits my need, as long as it is on the chart and I order the corresponding belt. Am I correct? Just double checking.
