Here's a few picture's of my belt drive.This system works very well so-far.The belts are only $14.00 V-belts

It's a tensioner. You can see it if you look closely in the second photo. There's a small, black pulley between the driver and driven pullies.

Sure enough, I saw that. Was wondering if that tensioner was also doing clutch duty, or if it was just holding static tension. Perhaps I wasn't clear.

New Pics

Here's some new picture's of the cart ,We installed a roll bar and light's,I need to replace the belt now,we have one whole summer on the old one.The left foot pedal is the belt tightener.All the way down will throw the gravel.It takes getting used to. I believe the top pulley on the crank is 2" and the axle pulley is a 10".With a new belt this thing will go fast!
