Begginner welder

hi
i am looking to buy a good welder to build a go kart. I have never attemted to build a kart before so it will be basic. I want something cheap it doesnt have to be that good just get the job done. i was searching on ebay and found this. Opinions would be greately appreciated

Trust me, you WILL eventually regret buying a gasless welder. Search your local Craigslist for a used name brand welder. Lincoln Electric, Hobart, Miller are all good brands. If you dont have a 220v hookup in your garage, then you'll have to make sure the welder runs off 120v. Anything over 120 amps would be ideal.

Thanks for the replys as i said its only my first welder and i am only 13. Cause i live in australia craigslist is not an option. The welder will definately be upgraded in the future. I was wondering how this might compare to some of the harbor freight welders as they seem to be common.

They are about the same. Chinese produced no name welders don't vary much. You will eventually want to upgrade and this has little resale value in comparison to a name brand, higher quality, more reliable welder.

Being my first welder the budget is not that high and dad wont chip in. Without doubt i will up grade enventually to a gas mig and well known brand but will it be good to weld just like standard 1x1 square tubing
