Bearings?

Okay so I need bearings for the jackshaft but am confused between the difference of bearings with a flange and the ones with a retaining ring. I currently have flange but notice that retaining rings one's are slightly cheaper. Help appreciated

No, I don't get the ring type either, just stick with the flange type...

Well. ...a bearing with a retaining ring can be used either way. ....generally for hubs that either have a shoulder or not......If you think about it. ...they are probably cheaper to manufacture. ...therefore cheaper to buy......

I look at them as a suitable replacement for flanged bearings. ....but personally, would only do it if flanged were hard to find. ....I like to keep things as original as possible. ......

What's the number on the race, that's what you need when replacing bearings.
