I'll try to be brief...

We began with a bone stock Predator. I added a full plate (for the throttle set-up), remote fuel tank, pulse fuel pump and wired the governor full forward and installed a kill-switch on the steering wheel yoke.

Complete project, fire up the motor and she runs like a https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3QGMCSCFoKA



After 30 minutes or so of fun and excitement, the motor loses some power and eventually we have to go "full-choke" for the motor to continue to run (meaning the motor would start but as soon as the throttle opens up it would stall out and die).

So, what did this newb do wrong?

Sound like it may not be getting enough fuel if it runs good with choke. There may be some crud in the carburetor preventing fuel flow. I would clean the carb see if it improves.

Is this a 212 predator? You said you put a throttle plate in with a pulse pump, maybe the pump is not giving enough fuel? Although you can check this by temporarily bypassing it and letting gravity feed fuel by putting the tank above the carb.

Did you do a stage one kit as well, or are the stock muffler/intake still on?

Yes, Predator 212.

No, exhaust, carb jets, and intake are all still stock.

Would wiring the governor in the forward position be causing this problem?

I'll bet your fuel, gas-can or fuel-tank had some crap in it, that has now clogged the jets or Emulsion tube in your carb...

Did you install a high quality fuel filter in-between your fuel tank and pulse pump?

I took the carb apart and cleaned as per Youtube videos instructions. All is right in the world again!

With these engines you will find that the solution, more often than not, is carb cleaning.

60% of the time, it's the carb everytime.

First dont wire anything to the gov if installed and all stock...
Install the throttle to the throttle plate......
