I have recently finished a barstool racer build and i am having trouble with steering. First off it wants to push the front tires when turning sharply at slow speeds, but turning wide at slow speeds is not so bad. Second at speed which is 34 mph as of now it is real touchy and wants to dart back and forth. What are some things i can do to help or cure these problems. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Here is the front the way i have it set up as of now

I'm guessing it has a live axle (both rear wheels driven by the axle)? If so, your problem is lack of ackermann in your steering...

The Ackermann principle (in a nutshell) states that the inside wheel must turn more than the outside wheel; at the moment, you have the opposite...

Have a read of this thread & see what you can pick up from it...

Yes it is a live axle. Ill try to set up my ackerman this afternoon. Will it help with the speed wobbles? I plan on going fast than 34 mph but it in a strainght line and maybe on occasion around a dirt track. And thanks for that thread.

It should help (as long as the toe is adjusted correctly) because, with ackermann set up, the wheels will be fighting each other & balance out but, right now, they follow the same line so there's no fight; that's what's causing the "death wobble"

Let us know if you need any tips setting it up

Yes, no ackermann :lolgoku:

It could be just camera angle but, from the pics, it appears you may have a bit of negative caster (kingpins lean forward) where you should have either zero (kingpins straight up) or, ultimately, positive caster (kingpins lean back). It only needs a few degrees
