Banners - Footers

I was wondering if anyone else has wanted a banner or a picture on the bottom of posts like many other forums allow, limit the size so it does not get excessive like gaming forums but I think it adds flair for a site. This would be a very nice addition, does anyone else feel this would add to their experience in slight customization?

As long as not abused like you said. On gaming forums I mistake them for ads. Quite often they also promote illegal activities like hacking (namely on gaming forums).

well it will make the posts longer and thus more crap to scroll through......
i think if the profile picture was just a tad bigge or that was customizeable you wouldnt need it.

I read that thread, I've had a few different banners made up for a few years now. And yes, many forums do have options where people can disable any images if they dislike viewing them, very simple to do under options. That negates any argument that it slows users who use dial-up.
