Is there anything i can do about brakes squealing? Kart runs good but the brakes will squeal really loud and it drives me nuts, I tried some wd40 on them and that fixes the problem but it comes back fast like 5 too 10min of rideing

It has one band brake in back which looks too be good but not really sure but it has good stopping power, All i know it did sit for awhile before i bought it.

I herd about stuff you can put on it too stop the squealing-squeaking think its called anti squeak or something, Will that fix this?

Just checked the pad on the band and it has alot of life left so i guess the band is good?

Its when i brake and they work perfect just squeals really loud which is louder than the engine idling.

And ya i put wd 40 on them because when i first got the kart it was squealing pretty bad which i thought just needed little oil but after i put wd40 on them they worked perfect but it seemed too wear off pretty fast which makes the brakes squeal again, And i know its bad too put any oil on brakes but it seem like it worked perfect on these band brakes. I don't get why they squealing because they have alot of brake pad left on them.

Think brake cleaner will help?

Get some 220 grit sandpaper and rough up the drum and pad.
