so I removed the governor on my baja warrior mini bike and now it doesn't run very well. when I run it with the choke in the turtle position it wants to take off without me hitting the gas. I have to kill the bike to get it to stop. when I run it with the choke in the rabbit position I cant even get it to engage the centrifugal clutch.

I am guessing that it might be that I never checked the valve lash because I couldn't find any feelers. Tomorrow I am going to buy a set so I can check it. I Know for a fact that the dots on the inside are lined up right. Other than that maybe its the throttle linkage I made and put on there. I have it set so the butterfly is shut when the throttle is in and the butterfly is wide open when you turn the throttle. seems right to me but I may be wrong.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks

ok so the first image shouldbe when my therotle is sitting in the closed position. the second should be when I have it wide open. I painted the link orange. There is no binding or anything. I checked the lash and it is good. so I guess the problem is in the carb some how.

thanks for any help!

so I started my other non modified warror at my dads today and found that the rabbit and turtle sticker is actually wrong for how they should run. I messed with my linkage a little more today and now it will idle without taking off, seems that the therotle was not sitting home all the way.(was dark out when I set up the link)

I dont think I gave it enough time last night to warm up properly as it was probably 35° out which is why it was sounding like crap. I kinda feel stupid now but thats life, live and learn lol.

I really appreciate the responses, thanks

Well you get the dummy of the month award!!!! JK.....

We all do stuff that seems really dumb in hindsight....(no one here has ever had a problem diagnosing a "no-run" issue because the fuel shut-off was closed or the kill switch in the off position.

Glad to hear you got it sorted out!

Yep, I did that just the other day; tried to start my lawn edger, which, ususally, starts first pull; after three pulls, I thought out loud "why aren't you starting?" To which I responded "because the power switch is in the off position, stupid..."
