212cc engine swap, shaft too short for Torque converter

Hey guy's
I wasn't expecting to have questions already but I've ran into a snag trying to swap this HF 212cc engine onto our kart, the problem is that the original engine has 3-1/2" of crankshaft sticking out and the new one has 2-3/8", this only leave's an 1/8" for the torque converter, it does have a spacer behind it but it's definitely needed for alignment, not sure what to do. Everything I've researched tells me that 2-3/8" is typical so this leads me to believe this torque converter might be proprietary to this particular setup?
Is this an oddball 30 series?
Is my best option ordering a new torque converter setup or is there a way to adjust this setup?

Why not take the crankshaft out of the old motor and throw it in the new one?

New one is a hemi... I reckon it wont fit... as the journals are different...

I assumed the 212cc has a longer stroke than the original 196cc. I’ll probably just order up a new T/C setup, this seems like the cleanest solution, plus I’ll be able to see if the jack shaft from the new T/C will work in the old backing plate and if it does I can just order another jack shaft and shorter spacer to install on the other cart.

today I swapped the carb and tank off the new HF 212cc on to the old engine and it fired up first pull

I wanted to also add that a new T/C is probably a better option due to the old set up not having a real smooth face from sitting for a few years and it’s just going to eat belts. I did polish it up the best I could but there is still some pitting.
