Bad to leave engine throttle on?

The way that I have my go kart throttle rigged, there is always tension on the throttle on the motor. It takes a little bit of gas for the torque converter to kick in and the kart to move, so I set the throttle to right around that point so that I don't have to push as far on the pedal to get it moving.

Will this be bad for the engine (Predator 212cc) to store it like this due to the throttle always being slightly on? Will it flood the engine?

Really?
No, will not flood.
However, I would be concerned about safety.
Throttle should always be completely closed (and have some play) when pedal is released.

Ok good to know, will adjust. However, without having tension like this on the throttle cable to start, I cannot get full throttle by pushing the pedal all of the way down.

Any way to fix that? Move the cable up higher on the pedal?
