This all started out as me and a buddy talking randomly, and someone brought up that we should build something. STarted spitballing ideas and it got to the point where its like "Hey, I have most of that stuff!" I had the front and rear axles from a homemade kart that went bye-bye (Wheels seized to the axle, couldnt change the bearings, frame went to the scrap bin) and a honda 5hp. The main frame is built from an old wagon and angle iron. We ended up cutting the one stubborn wheel off, buying a couple wheelbarrow wheels, knocking out the bearings and making them solid hub with some tubing and a bit of welding. I just got home from working on it at my buddy's place, heres what we have so far

Keep an eye on those wheels, it's not just the hub that makes them sketchy, the rims themselves are thinner than go kart wheels

I was trying to count the teeth on the axle sprocket, but wasn't winning. Is it a 52 tooth sprocket? What is the tooth count on the clutch? Why I am asking is because I think you are geared to high.

Otherwise, with a bit of bracing, you will have a nice kart

I agree with fabroman I used wheels like these one a long time ago and the hubs actually broke on me first. I welded them back in place then the bearings crapped out on me since you took out the bearing you only have to worry bout the hubs breaking.

We used various sizes of steel hydraulic line to bring the hub hole size down from 1.5" to 3/4", So Its fairly strong. I Beleive the clutch is a 10 tooth, but whatever it is the old kart had nice gearing and this will have the same setup :p And I work at a tire shop, theres a couple 8" rims that are solid hub, and the tube in the wheel is made of 1/4 steel, haha. If we have a problem Ill grab those for it, but then we would really have to re-gear
Anyways, some more go kart-ish tires

And as of now the engine is mounted and has been running. Ive got a chain roller thingy on order for it as well
