back axle dmgd

I have one of those little mini karts, and the base sprocket is kinda wobbly. So I took off the tire and the sprocket and I noticed that the key slot on the axle had widened (probably because of wear when the chain turns the sprocket rapidly), which is what made it loose.

So I was wondering if I should replace the entire back axle? Or is there a way to fix it? Because the axle is perfectly fine aside from that key slot.

I don't know how to replace an axle nor do I know where or what to buy one, (of course I could look up how to replace it).
