Would acceleration be affected when ordering this kit with the 6" wheels? Keep in mind the kart will never see off road? I'll be using it with a Predator 6.5hp engine.

It depends on the wheel size and gearing. What top speed do you want? how many teeth are there on the clutch? How many teeth are on the drive sprocket? I'm assuming its a clutch driven kart?

With standard size tires it will accelerate slightly better with slightly less top speed with the 5 inch wheels. Not much difference. I think the kart looks better with the 5's.The Azusa is a smaller traditional kart that I like.

I think the tires that come with the 6" wheels are roughly 1" bigger in overall diameter than the kit that comes with the 5'wheels? The kit comes with a 72 tooth axle sprocket. I might use a 60 tooth,im not sure. Regarding clutch size im not sure what size to buy. I dont want to give up to much top speed. What sprocket combinations do you guys recommend? Which wheel size would you use??

I would keep the 72T and get either a 10T or 12T clutch. The 10T clutch would then give you a ratio of 7.2:1, which is nice for a bit of torque. The 12T clutch will give you a 6:1 ratio, which is the general ideal figure for a kart. I would not go higher than that (ie a smaller number in the ratio). You will just fry your clutch

Sorry for all the??. I'm new to this. By using a 10 tooth Clutch I'd have less acceleration but more top end speed vs using the 12 tooth?

When you gear low - high number (8:1) you will have more acceleration but less top spead
When you gear high - low number (5:1) you will have less acceleration and more top spead

You cannot gear too high though. If you do, your clutch will not be able to engage, and it will burn out very fast. There are many factors involved, but 6:1 is a good average ratio

Personally, I think the 5" wheels look better, they give the kart a nicer "stance"...

Keep in mind, those karts are tiny; if you watch a couple of you tube vids, you'll see full grown men with their knees in their ears driving those things...
