My murray rebuild has been going OK until this weekend. The kart ran fine and then the chain came off. Then came off again. The axle does have a wobble. Maybe 1/4" and I believe this is causing the chain to jump. It is coming off in the direction of the wheel. It has a chain guide (I have it off) that will only affect the chain on the inside of the sprocket.

I can't find a matching axle...or one that might be close enough. I have searched all over the web.
41 5/8" long
3/4" diameter
1" threaded ends
5/8" nut
3/16" keyway

Any ideas? How much would a machine shop charge me to make one from scratch? I was told that if I tried to have this one straightened, it might bend back due to "memory".

Thoughts please...Thanks

Sorry, but I have to say it :useless:.

We need to see just how bad it is if you want an honest answer....

I did not think about changing the bearings to accommodate a 1" axle. I'm going to have to measure to see if that would fit.
I previous posts you mention new hubs? What part is consider the hub on the go kart?

I'll have pictures soon of the rebuild. I have to get them into photo bucket and figure it out from there.

Post your pics here. It makes it easier for members to give you help. Look at THIS thread on how to do it. If you have photobucket pics, just paste the links in the spaces provided for URL's and hit Upload.

I appreciate everyone's help. I found out that the hubs and integrated wheels are 3/4". I ordered the axle suggested by itsid
.
