Axle help please!

Hello my names Chris and me and my brother are building some real sketchy mini bikes lol we’re mounting some 8hp motors on some scooter frames and I want to turn mine into a trike type of deal the trouble I’m having is with my axle situation I want to do a live axle with two wheels is this possible if so can you help me out with what I’ll need we work at a fabrication shop so nothing is impossible but I’d like to make it nice and work good Im looking at clutches too any recommendations?

depending on the scooter you might be able to save some hassle and just install an ATV swingarm..
that way you had the rear axle covered.

clutch wise I think a series 30 TC would suit you well.

In my experience it is very difficult to steer a trike with a live axle unless you either put drift sleeves on or find another way to allow wheels to travel at different speeds such as using an idler hub to mount one wheel, remove the key from one rear wheel or use a differential. Just something to think about

a live axle might indeed get very "sticky" for a trike
so a differential is likely your best bet (peerless 100 is one go to device for applications like this)

This is how I did mine. its pretty much a bolt on hard tail.
Maybe you're more of a daredevil than me but low and wide is the way to go I used a 40" axle and only flipped once when I slid off the driveway while doing donuts (with my son on my lap).

IMHO: Stupidity may be a family trait, but it shouldn't be a family sport
