about the cost. i had to buy:
steering wheel, padals, front shocks, shifterknob, wires, sprockets, a few bolts, swithes, tierods. and i bouht the homemade gokart as you see in the first post to get seat, rear axle, tires, shocks and bearings and breaking system. the homemade bought kart costed round 70 dollars.

free stuff:
lights (took it from our old volvo)
taillight as breaklight (founded in school laying around)
complete steering system (without steering wheel, but with tierods)
material for the frame/rollcage i have had layng around, just as many other things on the kart.

One reason why i sarted this projekt was because i had so much in stock! making it lowbudget!

total cost: 200 dollars + 2 days work to get the enigne, isnt that lowbdget for this kind of kart then what is?

about the reverse concept:
i think it works just fine. but i have realized that it sucks much power from the battery. but when i charge the battery as i drive it will hopefully not be a big problem! we´ll see about that!

now the wiring is almost done and tha kart will be finished soon!
then its of to the next projekt :cheers2:

Great build. Let us know how that reverse works over the long haul. That's a great solution for a shifter kart. Will it back uphill when power is needed? I wasn't sure how fast it would try to go when you hit it...

Oh yeah! I completely forgot all about Sketchup... add that to my list of To Do's. Now that the Bugatti is nearing completion (updates coming soon!) I'm totally going to diagram the changes I've made to the blue prints. Thanks for bringing that up...

i felt like it is ime for an update, so here is some pics when it´s out of the garage and 100% finished!

The reverse isn´t the best when it comes to power, but it works perfectly on flat surfaces, or when backing out the garage! approximately speed backwards: 12 - 15 kmh

and i added a rearview mirror, its very helpful when driving on the road when cars are behind me! the speedometer works exellent, and according to it the cart goes 65+. Planning on measuring more accurat soon!

you can see the size in comparison with a honda cbr 125
