I found a thread here that had some good info in it regarding the chinese buggy engines. I'm looking to buy a "200cc" buggy/cart and the ones I'm interested in all come with the 169cc engine that I read here there are no bigger bore upgrades for, that these engines are "K blocks" and all the upgrades are for the 150cc A and B blocks, which can be overbored up to 212/240cc. I know a stock 150cc is not going to have the power my 6'2 220lb wants, and the only upgrades for a K block are carb/intake/exhaust and CVT upgrades. If I max out those upgrades how much difference will they make? Will an overbored A or B block drop in a cart that came with a K block without fabrication if I have to go that route? These are all GY6 Honda clone engines.

Thanks in advance for any helpful advice.

Also just as an aside, I've noticed the different brands of essentially the same buggies with these 169cc engines rate them at different horsepower. I've seen 8.6, 9.5, 11, and 13.5. Is there really any difference and which is more accurate? A dealer I spoke with said that they dynoed even above 13.5 but some manufacturers low ball the horsepower in the documentation to avoid import restrictions or fees. I have no idea if that is anywhere near accurate or just BS. Just curious if anyone has any info or thoughts on this.

Even at the crank, 13.5hp out of 169cc engine would be 1.32hp per cubic inch.

It took until the 60's for 1hp per cube was achievable in cars.

So for a stock, carbureted china clone scooter engine to reach 1.32 on 87 octane pump gas,
I would think the numbers have been exaggerated.
