Auxiliary Fuel Pump on Fuel Injected Sportbike GoKart

I've been building a gokart using a '00 Suzuki TL1000S motor. I bought the bike with a salvage title, got the bike running and riding. Took the motor out, have the motor mounted in the custom built frame. I just purchased an aluminum 2 gallon gas tank I plan to put on it.

Now the original fuel pump is in the tank. Would installing a generic fuel pump off ebay, right to the fuel pump wires on the motor, work?

Depends on where the fuel pressure regulator is from the factory. If it has a fuel feed and return line you should be fine, if just a feed then you'll have to plumb a regulator in. Very doable either way.

This has nothing to do with your fuel pump and I may be wrong, but it looks like you have your rear tire on backwards. the tread looks like it's facing the wrong way.

Might work if the generic fuel pump lasts. I see your engine has a 40-43lb pressure set from factory, so as long as you have an efi pump 190lph I assume with a way to regulate at 43lbs I don't see why it won't work. Some ebay pumps don't last and some do. Some people have had good luck with them. A actual walbro would be my choice.

I mean me personally would cut the section out of the stock tank and make a new tank around it using all the oem stuff. That way the stock pump is there with all the oem fittings and you can find a correct pump later on also easier.

Go to your local parts store and buy a fuel pump for a 1989 F350 with a 460. It's an inline pump and can supply way more fuel than you need. Now we need to figure out what to do with this extra fuel so you have to look and see if the fuel pressure regulator is on the fuel rail, or if it was regulated at the pump in the tank. If the regulator is on the fuel rail simply run a return line to the fuel tank, if it was at the pump then you will have to buy a return style regulator and plumb a return line to the tank and manually set the pressure. I did my turbo chopper with an aeromotive boost referenced fuel pressure regulator and it worked beautifully.
