Autonomous Go Kart..

I was thinking of letting my gocart control itself in my backyard via arduino, gps, sensors, and various servos. What do you think?

so like a giant RC car? could be fun but i could see disaster... i used to have nitro R/C's and ive had LOTS of run-aways.

first time it ran away, i was driving it down my street and the radio started glitching and i couldnt control it went full throttle swerved over the curve flew into the air and disappeared into the brook.

one time, i was driving at a school, the radio shuts off at full throttle and it goes full speed across the playground into a fence, wrecks the front end and the engine revvs out of control and the con rod and piston blew up and wrecked the motor

$200 engine later and i was driving it down my street, same thing the radio shuts off at full throttle and it took off into my neighbors yard and clips a tree, destroyed the front differential again and ripped off the A-arms

it must have happened over a dozen times, i was constantly worried while driving it haha

now replace that R/C car with a 200 pound go kart, its going to kill someone if it goes out of control

LOL...Go for it! But nothing beats driving the wheels off in person, right?

Ha surely they could wire it to drop throttle when it loses control

Image a car with the throttle being spring apply cable release throttle
If the cable snaps then it's flat strap

Don't you think that you should have replaced the radio after the first couple of times.......

there's a video of a guy that did this on youtube. he even went into how he accomplished it and what servos etc. he used.
