On some of the other forums that I visit, the original author of the thread is noted on all of their subsequent comments to the thread. It's handy to know in some instances. Thanks.

I think you willfind all of that functionality there for you to turn on or off.

Is that functionality actually there? I didn’t see it as an option. I’m trying to figure out what forum/forum software has “Thread OP” highlighted.

It is the setting below. Watch (or set a trigger) on the content (thread) you created

From the XenForo Preferences screen, the setting you’re looking for is under Content options.

✅ Correct setting:

  • “Automatically watch content you create…”
When this option is enabled:
  • Any thread you create is automatically “watched”
  • You will receive alerts/notifications when someone replies
  • If you also tick:
    • “and receive email notifications”
→ you’ll get email alerts as well

How it works:

  • XenForo uses a “watched threads” system
  • Creating a thread + enabling that option = automatic subscription
  • Replies → trigger alerts (and optionally emails)

If you’re not getting notifications

Also double-check:
  • Go to Alerts (left menu) → ensure thread reply alerts are enabled
  • Make sure you didn’t manually unwatch the thread

Quick summary

👉 Enable:
Automatically watch content you create…

✔ This is the exact setting that controls reply notifications for your own threads.

What hes looking for is for "OP" to be displayed under our name/avatar on the left, in each thread.

Its usually in the area of these red boxes. It just announces that the poster is the OP.

I believe we had this feature for a while on MCF.com and I really liked it.
