speed bumps

Been scetchin out a diagram for the tube body. Run across a few snags but figured out ways around them then hit a biggin. At 2/3 scale a jeep flatty has a tub about 12" tall. Not incuding the windsheild. My motor is a briggs opposed twin that measures ruffly 17" squared. I really dont want the frame 4" lowwer then the body. I dont want the motor packed aginst the hood. And I dont really want an open (hoodless) setup eather. My wife says "go toppless". so im considering a dune rail/mud drag design. (Pictured) it would work with my tires (super lugs/v-treads on rear and im gonna get the tri-rib tractor fronts) and it would make a nice climber, thats big cuz the only thing flat in W.V. are the lakes, but its really not my style. I want a jacked up beefy style.

Mini Jeep

So ive decided my winter project this year will be a mini jeep. Did some lookin around the inter-web but havnt quite found the info I need. Was hopin any mini jeep builders and/or owners could post some pics and info on there builds. I have an old lawn tractor to build it on but would like to build my own body outta sheet metal and since my metal fab tools are limited to a welder, grinder, chop saw and a few hand files I need some tips on making the shapes nessisary for a decent replica.
If nothin else heres another chance to show off your build.
Thanks, Lou
:useless:

Hey tractor guy, I am planning on building one for my grandson. I think it will be a great project.

I sort of decided to adapt the plan that I found on the net (rogi888), I believe the guy was from England. The only problem in the plans I downloaded was the dimensions can't be read so i will just wing it and start from scratch.

I think i will leave the trans and all in place just lock out the higher speed range for my 7 year old.

Keep us informed on your build.
