Is there a preferred way to go about this? I'd of thought welding it would warp the axle? Not a huge amount but enough to give it an imbalance!

Thanks,
Ben.

I was thinking of making a carrier at work, but I can't figure out how to attach the carrier to the shaft! I'm going to use some bright bar, I can have it machine if need be for a keyway.

sprocket hubs (or sprocket with a build in hub) are cheap and easy to find..

I know this is DIY, but why exactly bother? ;)

:iagree: If you can buy one, do so...

Having said that, when I was building my daughters kart, I couldn't buy a brake disc hub so, I made one using a piece of round bar. If you need any tips, let me know...

I the same, for my bike. I needed a disc brake hub for a motorcycle disc. None available. So I made one, also made a hub for my rear(car spare) tire.
